Coastal Delaware
Beautiful Southern Coastal Delaware
Over the past decade, Delaware has emerged as one of the top three states attracting retirees and pre-retirees. With its tax-friendly reputation, beautiful coastal towns, plentiful state parks, and other natural attractions, the “First State” has a lot to offer families who are looking for their ideal retirement destination.
Sussex County is one of only three counties in Delaware
and is anchored by the state capital, Georgetown, to the north, and the iconic seashore resort towns of Lewes (pronounced “léw.is”), Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach, Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island (which ends at the Maryland border town of Ocean City). However, those are not the only places that make Sussex County so special. With only 39 miles from its easternmost point to its westernmost point, Sussex County offers a wide range of housing options within a reasonable distance to its famous beaches.
